Newer Version

Do we change? Aren’t we just a newer version of our parents in contemporary clothes, repeating the same mistakes with a new twist? We fret and struggle to be free, when the freedom we seek is from ourselves. I hear you now, saying, “I am NOT like my parents”. Yet as life plays its hand and relentless stress squeezes every droplet of juice from your body, the familiar ways of our parents lives tumbles into our own.

    real life is odd sometimes. but when you look at your kids, don’t you hope that they will want to be like you – only the good things of course. – dannon
